Psoriasisärzte suchen weiter nach neuen Tabletten gegen die Entzündung[2][5]. Ein neues Ziel im Körper heißt SIK2 und SIK3, diese Eiweiße steuern Teile des Immunsystems[2]. Das Mittel GLPG3970 blockiert SIK2 und SIK3, in einer frühen Studie schrumpften Plaques bei manchen Patientinnen und Patienten[2][3]. Forschende fanden in Psoriasis-Haut viel SIK2 und SIK3, aber kaum SIK1[2]. In Laborversuchen senkte GLPG3970 wichtige Entzündungsbotenstoffe wie TNF und IL‑6 in Abwehrzellen[2][9]. In behandelten Hautproben gingen viele Entzündungsgene zurück, etwa IL1B und CXCL8[2]. Dadurch kamen wohl weniger neutrophile Zellen in die Haut, die Entzündung schwächte sich ab[2]. GLPG3970 gilt aber weiter als Prüfmedikament, wie es auf lange Sicht wirkt weiß noch niemand[3][5].
