Seborrhoische Dermatitis auf der Kopfhaut sieht oft aus wie Psoriasis, das nervt viele Betroffene. In einer kleinen Studie haben Forschende Kopfhautproben von 35 Männern mit Seborrhoe untersucht. Sie schauten sich die Haarfollikel unter dem Mikroskop im Querschnitt an. Milder und schwerer Verlauf unterschieden sich dabei kaum. Spannend war ein anderer Punkt. Bei Seborrhoe waren die Talgdrüsen nie geschrumpft, bei Psoriasis war das bei vielen Proben der Fall. Das kann Ärztinnen helfen, Kopf-Psoriasis besser zu erkennen und sie von vernarbendem Haarausfall zu trennen. Die Studie hatte jedoch wenige Teilnehmende und nur Männer.
